What Portal Between Past and Present is about
Lin Shan, a down-and-out middle-aged man, hits rock bottom: he loses his job, his father falls ill, and his wife betrays him. By chance, he awakens a portal that lets him travel between the modern era and ancient times. He trades cheap modern industrial goods for rare ancient treasures, auctions them in the modern world and amasses great wealth. Meanwhile, he practices martial arts and helps the empress ascend the throne. He maneuvers freely between the two worlds. Rising from the bottom of society, he becomes the richest man in the country, and gains true love and a happy family.
