The DramaNext guide
What Phoenix Guided by Lucky Carp is about
Lingbao, a little fairy from the Immortal Realm, got so obsessed with imperial harem novels that she ruined her elixir. As punishment, she was banished to the mortal world to help Xie Jinghong, a discarded concubine in the cold palace, rise to become Empress. She was reborn as the twin princess of the emperor, abandoned by her own mother, the noble consort.
It runs 95 short episodes on HappyShort and leans on second chance, fantasy and family secrets tropes, with each episode ending on a hook.
Is it worth watching?
If you came for second chance, the payoff is a lead who knows how it went wrong last time and plays it differently. On top of that: a world with its own rules and a lead who learns to bend them.
Plan on roughly 2–3 hours from the first episode to the finale.
