The DramaNext guide
What The Contract Fiancée is about
At the age of seven, Zhang Shu and Xie Nian promised to marry each other when they grew up. After a sudden tragedy, she moved far away with her mother under the new name Jiang Shu, while he changed his name to Xie Jingyan and spent years abroad. When they meet again, she works as an ordinary employee in his company and even beats him up, mistaking him for a hooligan.
It runs 55 short episodes on HappyShort and leans on CEO romance, marriage drama and contract relationship tropes, with each episode ending on a hook.
Is it worth watching?
The draw here is the power gap between the leads and who ends up holding the cards. On top of that: a marriage that starts on the wrong foot and has to be earned.
The whole series takes roughly 1–2 hours, so it's an easy binge.
