For a century, Arthur stood alone as the empire's guardian, using divine power to keep the flesh-eating Blight beyond an impenetrable barrier. But when the people grew greedy for the resources beyond it, they branded him a fraud and cast him out. The moment Arthur left, the barrier fell, and the Blight horde stormed the capital. As the fallen Empress begged for mercy on her knees, Arthur simply watched.
