Dai Jia, an emerging designer, was wrongfully accused of stealing an antique vase to use in a competition and served a seven-year prison sentence. After her release, she discovered that this imprisonment was actually orchestrated by her husband Wen Shiyao and son Wen Li—all to curry favor with her stepsister Dai Lingling. Heartbroken, Dai Jia reported them to the media and planned to leave town.
