The DramaNext guide
What Break Engagement and Build Sauce Empire is about
In 2002, Zhao Jinfeng, a country girl, was betrothed by her father to the layabout Sun Tieliang for an 8,800-yuan bride price. She calls off the engagement in public and marries his younger brother Sun Tiezhu instead. Faced with a biased mother-in-law, a freeloading elder brother-in-law and a vicious sister-in-law, Jinfeng builds a business from scratch with an ancestral chili sauce recipe.
It runs 58 short episodes on HappyShort and leans on marriage drama tropes, with each episode ending on a hook.
Is it worth watching?
