The DramaNext guide
What The substitute Bride is about
Amy, the Brooks family's adopted daughter, becomes a stand-in bride for young congressman Edward in place of Angela, the family's biological daughter, and enters a contract marriage. As the two open their hearts to each other, they confront the truth behind the abuse within the Brooks household, an illegal bone-marrow harvesting case, and the death of Edward's younger sister.
Vigloo released it as 54 bite-size episodes mixing marriage drama, contract relationship and romance, made to watch on a phone in one sitting or a few.
Is it worth watching?
The draw here is a marriage that starts on the wrong foot and has to be earned. On top of that: the moment a deal stops being just a deal.
At roughly 1–2 hours in total, it's quicker to finish than most full-length series.
