The DramaNext guide
What Sea Spirit Contract Fisherman of 1984 is about
In 1984, fisherman Ji Yu is reborn. Faced with an exorbitant betrothal gift demand, he calls off the engagement without hesitation. He awakens the Sea Spirit Contract System, which lets him form pacts with marine creatures such as spotted pufferfish, wild otters and dolphins to share their talents. With his ocean companions, he gathers seafood on tidal flats, catches rare marine products and sells premium sea goods.
HappyShort released it as 80 bite-size episodes mixing contract relationship and second chance, made to watch on a phone in one sitting or a few.
Is it worth watching?
If you came for contract relationship, the payoff is the moment a deal stops being just a deal. On top of that: a lead who knows how it went wrong last time and plays it differently.
Plan on roughly 2–3 hours from the first episode to the finale.
How to watch it
Press play on episode 1 and DramaNext moves on to the next one by itself. No account and nothing to install. It was added to DramaNext on Oct 20, 2026.
