What Master Descends, I Won’t Be a Son-in-Law is about
Thirteen years ago, Li Muchen lived with his grandfather, surviving by collecting scraps. After his grandfather’s sudden death, he was left with a marriage contract to a wealthy family. Taken to Kunlun by the immortal Yun Yangzi, he trained for thirteen years. Upon returning, he sought to cancel the engagement, refusing to marry into another family.
It runs 66 short episodes on Vigloo and leans on billionaire, marriage drama and contract relationship tropes, with each episode ending on a hook.
Is it worth watching?
The draw here is the hidden-wealth reveals and the people who misjudged the lead. On top of that: a marriage that starts on the wrong foot and has to be earned.
At roughly 1–2 hours in total, it's quicker to finish than most full-length series.
