Joyce fell in love at first sight with Captain Hank as she sought to overcome her fear of flying. The two entered into a three-year contract marriage, but after the wedding she gave everything yet was met with cold neglect. On their third anniversary, after catching Hank in an ambiguous situation, she was involved in a car accident and lost her memory.
