Rachel Wood is framed for injuring her mother-in-law and forced to stay with the Barton family to atone. Misunderstood by her husband, Nathaniel Barton, she works at a bar to save her kidnapped brother, only to face humiliation from Nathaniel.

The draw here is the slow build to a payback that lands hard. On top of that: a marriage that starts on the wrong foot and has to be earned.
