From Keeper to Meister

A laid-off veteran technician took a warehouse-keeper job at a mech manufacturing plant to pay for his wife's medical treatment, yet he dared to repair a super mech from the NSA Academy that even experts were at a loss to fix. He entered into a high-stakes wager with the boss: if he repaired it, he would receive a transfer of shares; if he failed, he would pay with his life. Drawing on consummate skill, he restored the mech and achieved a breakthrough in ultra-generation technology, earning the National Pillar Medal. Only in hindsight did everyone realize that he was the Empire's one and only Meister-class mechanic.
