Lin Xiangyang, a fisherman, gains superpowers to communicate with marine creatures and breathe freely underwater after being struck by lightning and falling into the sea. With his abilities, he hunts for treasures while tide-picking. He thwarts the treasure-looting plots of local tyrant Zhao Dafa and rich heir Sheng Jie. Teaming up with marine researcher Lan Yaning, he safeguards ancient shipwrecks and cold seep ecosystems on the seabed. In the end, he repels capital forces, pushes for the cold seep to become a national germplasm resource reserve, and leads all the fishermen in his village to prosperity.
